Lordy. Woke up @ 3AM this morning with a crazy desire for some new t-shirts. Instead of dismissing the passing thought, I got up out of bed, threw on a sweatshirt and went surfing. Being the lazy loyal consumer that I am, I clicked on my clothing bookmark tab headed directly to Threadless.com to see what was new.

I wasn’t a big fan of the new releases, normally there are one or two shirts that I buy just because of the initial WOW COOOOOOOL-ness factor. Eh. Slim pickins, but I bought a couple T’s that I’ve had my eye on for a while. I picked up Damn Scientists, a personal outcry about the lack of technological gadgets (i.e. jetpacks) that we were promised in movies when we were kids, and Well, This Just Really Sucks…, which pretty much sums up the worst Scrabble game EVAR.

I know I’ve said this before, but Threadless has garnered a pretty good reputation (in my eyes) for putting out quality stuff. Of course, the core (hipster) community that flocked to the t-shirt company in the beginning has repeatedly stated that “ZOMG IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BOTTOM LINE” and “THREADLESS IS SELLING OUT.” Blah blah blah. But what they’re not telling you is that they’re still constantly refreshing the front page to be the first one with the latest design. Heheheh… Whatever.

Anyway, I like their t-shirts and they make me feel pretty.

…in the most masculine way the word “pretty” can be understood.

Starting sometime on Monday we’ll be having a $10 sale so that you can stock up on Christmas gifts! So here’s the catch. We just did inventory today and there are a whole lot of tees that weren’t in stock before that are now in stock. Chances are, those are going to be sold before Monday. So check the stock chart now to make sure you won’t miss out!!!

We will be announcing 6 new tees on Monday and reprints throughout the week. We will not be sending another newsletter on Monday so our server will be a little less strained so don’t forget to go check it out!

Yay! Another $10 sale! It doesn’t look like the “Great out-of-stock drought of the Threadless summer 2005 sale” will repeat again, since most of their shirts have been re-stocked for the autumn push. Remember all those t-shirts from Threadless that we (1) bought (2) together (3)? Wasn’t that fun? Yeah I know. Spending $$$ makes me happy too. What a summer it has been. What will autumn bring?

COLD. Here in Chicago, it’s already been getting a little too nippy outside to wear just a t-shirt. But instead of folding them away until it warms up again, you can breathe new life into you t-shirts by stacking layers. Enter: The Old Navy Long-Sleeved T. I have a million of these long-sleeved shirts and I swear by them every time I want to chill out @ home on a Sunday afternoon. 100% cotton. No restricting ribbed sleeves. No itchy tag @ the back of your neck! Just a classic fit for doing absolutely nothing. And @ $10.50 (Buy 2 or more, $7.50 each) per shirt, there’s no reason not to get a few for fall.

They come in white, red, blue, grey, black and green. Get creative with your color combinations. Find the least represented color on the t-shirt that you’re going to wear and sport that color as your long sleeve. It works every time. So extend your summer gear by a few more months and start layering… comfortably.

The shirt and tie combo is pretty versatile as you can wear it with any suit combination (3 button please) besides black. I just threw in the boxers for kicks (It matches!!!). If you’re feeling bold, rock the orange shirt with the striped tie. I’d wear that combo with a gray suit of any shade.

Add some inexpensive Hand-Tied Knot Cufflinks, some Gold Toe socks, and matching belt and shoes and you have yourself something you can wear any day the sun is out without feeling like the everyday suit. And for under $60, you can feel good that you’re wearing some nice threads and being cheap cost-effective @ the same time. You can’t find quality like that @ the local Marshalls or Nordstrom Rack (Believe me, I’ve tried)!

Save your money for meat. Your stomach will thank you.

Let me begin by saying that these past 2 weeks has been the BEST WEEKEND OF MY LIFE. LOL. I’ve been on a shopping spree recently… mainly because I’m just waiting around to start whatever job I’m going to take. It’s a good time to reset and get back to being that genuinely happy guy that I was so many moons ago. I’ve had a couple of unhealthy T-shirt binges as of late and this latest delivery was just as delicious as all the others.

Quick post. If you’re looking to randomly spend some cash and beef-up your closet in preparation for the summer… Keep your eye out for nylon web belts. The ones I linked to are from Gap (They’re on sale too!), but there are a ton of Army/Boy Scout Surplus Stores that carry military issue gear if you’re into that authentic feel. They’re really great for shorts ’cause they’re light and durable. It can function as something else to wear instead of wrecking your bling blingin’ diamond encrusted leather belts from Coach/KennethCole/Prada. Just a thought!
