Turkey Day Came Early!

Last Saturday, Liana and I hosted a small Thanksgiving party for her co-workers + significant others. Deb and Matt brought a ton of booze, appropriately enough, for pomegranate martinis - you can see Matt’s arm in the picture. Emi brought a delicious stuffing that had a great crust on the bottom of the pan… I HATE SOGGY STUFFING lol. Stacy brought a huge bowl of salad that had not only pomegranate seeds, but mandarin orange slices and tasty dressing that she left (which we secretly use for our own salads MWMAHAAHA). Shanti brought cheese (omg DOUBLE CREAM BRIE) and Jeff brought this really bright and smooth Syrah - I’d tell you the winery, but the recycling was picked up on Tuesday. Sorries! Hee hee.
I’d like to say that Liana did an AMAZING job cleaning the house, and even though I helped… I was stuck (hehe by design lol) in the kitchen prepping for the food. It was pretty much everything that I wrote in my fabrication list (with a few changes of course). I made an organic turkey breast (from Ballard Market of course), roasted garlic mashed potatoes n’ gravy, mussles in broth and a cold green bean salad dressed in a Dijon and topped with almonds. Simple food without being too fancy, fancy. We all had a lot of fun just chilling out for the year and toasting each other’s health. At least we weren’t in our pajamas like last year! LOL.
So, if you’ve been reading this blog for a while (or just started yesterday)… I appreciate it. I’m thankful for that. If you’re celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow, enjoy! Oh, and also… don’t forget TONITE IS THE BIGGEST DRINKING NIGHT OF THE YEAR!!! LOL.
