Netflix, I Already Love You

If you follow my twitter / facebook feeds, it’s no secret that I signed up for Netflix. WOO HOO. It’s a service that I’ve always wanted to subscribe to, but could never justify the price. The main reason why I chose to sign up for it was because of all unabashed LOVE the gaming community was giving it via podcasts – OXM, 1up, Major Nelson to name a few. All I’d hear were comments like “Man, having movies just running in the background is great,” or “Being able to stream Amovies at a decent quality ND MAYBE EVEN IN HD really make a difference.” Also, thanks to Mark and Samuel for giving me their input too!
My thoughts? OOOOOOOH MAN IS IT NICE. TOTALLY. I opted for the $8.99/mo. package, which entitles me to 1 DVD… BUT it also entitles me to unlimited PC and device viewing… and by “device” I mean my XBOX360. The gaming device’s software was recently upgraded to support Netflix streaming AND OH MAN IS IT SEXY. Netflix is so much faster than that other “stores” I “rented videos” from ifyaknowwhaddamean (Thanks Louise for the easy /sarcasm).
Ok. So here’s the deal. You can login to Netflix on your company and setup your “Instant Watch” queue (just like the disc process)… OR use INSTANT Q++ (pictured above) on your iPhone for some touchy-touchy choosing action. Sure, it doesn’t manage ordering discs via mail and the ilk, but it sure delivers on what it’s supposed to do. So to recap:
1. Open iPhone app / jump on Netflix.com on computer
2. Choose movie
3. Watch on XBOX360
4. Fall asleep on couch with popcorn on your face
I’ve already watched a handful of GREAT movies – which I’ll totally save for another post. It’s actually allowing me to consider declining the $10+ fee for our Comcast cable box. I’m really happy with what I’ve done with Netflix so far and it’s totally worth the $$$. Well, more like $. The other $’s I can use for food! LOL. It’s a MUST if you own a 360!
YAY NETFLIX!
