You’re a road warrior. We know. Your world is not merely comprised of travels between points A and B – You enjoy the journey, as well as the destination.
So, why not enjoy a sandwich during your travels?
“Cue “Seal-like” music and 1st person visual perspective dark tunnel to sunlight exit”
Flank steak, sliced diagonally into quarter inch slices and marinated in apple cider vinegar, cumin and cayenne pepper. Seared hot. A baguette, sliced with the inside bread pulled away delicately to create more room, toasted slightly. Mayonnaise, made simply with egg yolks and canola oil, spread heartily on one side. All aforementioned ingredients combined and topped with previously made mango salsa.
Introducing… the LOL I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE. lol.
Honestly tho, it was the best sandwich I’ve made since being in Seattle. The steak, sliced on the bias, was easy to eat full of beefy flavor without requiring the diner to chew with fervor. The crisp exterior with the mayo and the sweet, sweet mangoes melted together. I also threw some chips with cheddar on top under the broiler for a few seconds for it to melt.
Randomly, I love how the mangoes and the cheese are they same color, but they’re completely different flavors. It’s like painting with another dimension to work with… or something. LOL.
This is actually a GREAT foundation for baguette-based sammiches. if you’re in SF, stop by and grab an updated take on the bahn mi from Out the Door on Market Street – The roast pork = DELICIOUS. If you’re in Seattle, Baguette Box does an OK job at it too.
WOO WHOO SAMMICHES!
