iPhone Apps Rundown

Quick survey of what 3rd party apps I use on my iPhone 3G. All links go directly to the iTunes App Store (ITAS) for the lazy. You’re welcome you ungrateful jerks. LOL.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
Twitteriffic – (Purchased premium ed. $9.99USD) Best Twitter client on iPhone. I’ve never tried Hahlo, so I can’t compare the two.
Shazam – Listens to music, then searches for artist and title. Complete and utter music geek paradise.
AirMe – Location based geotagging photo application. The only gripe I have is no custom Flickr tags.
Zenbe – Lists. Apparently they’re sync-able so if I’m the one getting cereal and I check it off, Liana would be able to see the change on her (hopefully in the near future) iPhone immediately.
Remote – Control iTunes library on computer remotely. Slick interface.
Box Office – Movie times lookup. ++ for the Rotten Tomatoes rating integration.
Facebook – The Internet for the un-Internet-ed. I like the use of the camera in the app to upload in life stream (if I didn’t already have millions of places to put pictures).
Eventful – Find interesting events around your current location. Missed out on Cut Chemist here in Seattle, but at least I knew about it!
WordPress – Write new posts and blog administration from your iPhone. Annoyances: Can’t write a draft at your computer then pull it up on the iPhone. Team is dedicated to make app more robust.
Mocha VNC Lite – Remote control of computer. Fun to use, great for movie playback on VLC.
Last.fm & Pandora – Streaming Internet ‘choons. Don’t really have a preference.
ON THEIR WAY OUT:
Twinkle – Location-based twitter, but it doesn’t have the polish of Twitteriffic. It’s not ugly, but I wouldn’t want to marry it.
Exposure – Shows Flickr albums, but Ads are very ugly. Might buy and keep.
Loopt – Not a lot of my contacts use it, let alone have iPhones. BrightKite won me over first and it’s been hard trying to integrate this one. Loopt posts to Twitter just don’t feel right – Maybe syndicated posts need a URL to the attached picture? I dunno.
AIM – Used it once, then chucked it. Everyone I really speak to is on gtalk.
DAILY WEB APPS:
Google Suite:
Google Reader – RSS reader that is tailored to iPhone and has same functionality as if I were at my desk.
gTalk – Awesome chat interface that is totally boss when flipped horizontally. I almost feel as cool as those kids with T-Mo Sidekicks. Hee hee.
Google Docs – Get to create and edit docs on the net.
WAITING FOR WISHLIST:
Mint.com app – No major financial info, but a couple “budget” meters to track when I’m about to buy that $300 action figure from Kid Robot. I would also LOVE to walk by a restaurant and have the daily average of what people tend to spend here – that would kind of be amazing.
Skratch app – A decent vinyl emulator a la Serato Scratch Live. Mixmeister sux.
Strobelight app – Flashlight apps? SO PASSE. Also, buy 5 or 6 iPhones for all-night raver glow-stick-a-thons.
Anime app – I need something cute on my phone. Pokemon something plz?
Oh man. I love the damn thing and I honestly don’t know what I do with myself if it were taken away from me. The only time I ran the battery down all the way was on the first day. Now, I drop it in the dock before I sleep to sync new music and charge up the batteries and I’m ready to start the day the next morning! WOOP WOOP.
iPhonez Forevar!

Update: My Internet homey NakedSushi posted three of her favorite apps – two of which I didn’t mention. KTHX!

The same day I read this post, I came across this column in which Stephen Fry (V for Vendetta), a big-time gadget lover, gushes about the new iPhone and the potential for apps for the Guardian’s “Dork Talk” series. You might like “Dork Talk”.
