Vietnamese Dinner: Out the Door and Into My House

Broiled Pork with Vermicelli Noodles and Romaine Lettuce Garnished with Roasted Peanuts, Pickled Carrots and Limes

Canadian Clams in a White Wine and Ginger Broth with Sauteed Sugar Snap Peas
Larger view here and here. I got out of work early and stopped by the corner market (I hope this is a trend!) to pick up a 1/2 pound of clams, freshly delivered sugar snap peas, some ginger, garlic, a lime and some rice noodles. It’s been a while since I worked with Ed, Lien and Ryan @ Out the Door, but that doesn’t mean that I forgot what I learned! Hee hee.
Spawned from a genuine desire to work back in a kitchen in San Francisco with my friends, I made a few of my favorite dishes from that fabled (rofl, fabled? lol) restaurant. I’d like to say that I won’t write recipes since they aren’t mine to give… but I’m just plain lazy. LOL. Honestly, it comes to this: quality produce is paramount. Those guys at OTD really showed me so many things that I use in everyday life, in and out of the kitchen.
Thanks a lot guys, I owe you a lot!
