SF to Seattle: The Planning Stages
Liana and I are leaving for our new place at the end of next week! This is our multi-destination Google Maps (I heart you) driving itinerary from San Francisco to Seattle. Goodness gracious. This is one code-filled hodge-podge’d post here folks. I can hardly read what I’m writing with all of this code markup. I mean, all you’ll see are lovely orange links… but from the back end, it’s all ugly. U G L Y and it ain’t go no alibi. Hee hee.
We’re thinking that it should be a 2-day trip since driving straight from point A to point B would be 16 hours. How am I supposed to enjoy the Pacific NW if I don’t stop and smell the… the… smoked salmon? LOL. Liana wanted to stop by her alma mater first, so I decided to leverage that for a visit to the Tillamook Cheese Factory the day after we spend the night in Portland. Good thing I’m not lactose intolerant… cause I’m gonna try and get my fill of the sharpest cheddar they have!
I’ve only been looking for a few minutes, but the trip looks promising from what I’ve read on specific posts on Yelp and Ask Meta Filter. So, to clarify, the trip will look like this:
San Francisco, CA > Davis, CA > Portland, OR > Tillamook Cheese Factory > The Townhouse!
Does anyone have any other recommended destinations we should go on the way over to Washington? I hear that Portland is a great “little big” city, so we’ll prolly spend a lot of time over there. I wanna eat specialty foods, look off into the distance on breathtaking cliffs, and maybe take a picture with a WTF landmark (like largest ball of string or something). Please let me know!
YAY Trips!

H, you gotta check this out! I think you and Liana will appreciate this.
The Chihuly Bridge of Glass
A stunning link to the Thea Foss Waterway and the Museum of Glass, this 500 foot pedestrian bridge holds three amazing Chihuly glass installations, open to the public 24 hours a day. Linger at sunset on a date, and you’ll see why it’s one of the most romantic places in Washington.
