Breaking the Fast: Southwestern Hash… in the Northwest

A Southwestern Hash (Yukon Gold Potatoes, Red Onion, Red Pepper, Chorizo) with Monterey Jack Cheese, a Coddled Egg and Avocado
Before I left work yesterday, I picked up some ingredients @ Bristol Farms. Although pricey, they have one of the freshest selection of produce in the area (which is kinda saying a lot for the SF Bay)… also my employer is right next door to it… within the same building… 20 steps from entrance to entrance. LOL.
Anyway, I wanted a substantial breakfast to last me though out the day (I get madd hungry before lunch) so I went the hash route and mixed some of my favorite ingredients cooked ‘em relatively slow… and put and egg on top (look at the yolk breaking pr0n here). LOL. 90% of the stuff I don’t blog ALWAYS ENDS UP WITH AN EGG ON TOP. LOL. Just ask Alice!
I can’t post the recipe right now… but all I can say is GET GOOD CHORIZO. Sure veggie freshness is important, and eggs need to be good quality… but the spices in chorizo really make the dish something special (and cheap too since you don’t have to buy the spices yourself). Also, shallots (wherever it calls for onion) really make a difference in your food too! Questions, just ask! In the meantime…
…treat yourself to a good breakfast!
