Carrot and Apple Sitting in a Tree…

I’ve been bombarded with batches of blended botanical bounty! Ever since my last demonstration (Carrot-ginger soup, white bean dip, pasta puttanesca and carrot-apple-ginger-lime juice), I’ve had this yearning to consume anything on the “does a body good” list of man. Earlier this afternoon, I “juiced.” Not just any juice, mind you… but red pepper, apple, carrot, ginger juice. It was fantastic Doo, fantastic!
So it got me thinking about how all these fruits and veggies magically compliment one another… and the answer struck me like a red delicious dropping on Newton’s large cabeza (that means “head” for those of you who speak “American”)… THESE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES ARE IN LOVE!!! DUH. So the following is an ode “straight from my brain to the keyboard” to the freshness that is the “produce connection.”
*ahem*
Forbidden Fruits (and Vegetables)
by Herschell Taghap Esq.
Oh carrot, oh apple,
How ever did you meet?
Did a monkey drop its bounty and you both met at its feet?
Was one more shy, was one more brave?
Did either flirt and misbehave?
Please don’t tell, I’d hate to see,
Which one of you was wrong,
Because my friends,
It’s in my gut, where both of you belong,
I’d never guess that both would find,
A love so true indeed…
And thankfully… you’ll have kin…
Since apples have their seeds!

I honestly cannot write anything more that could possibly top that poem. It was just too awesome. ROFL. JOKES!
YAY FORBIDDEN FRUIT!
