Red: It’s Not Just a Color, It’s a Lifestyle

Well, part of the launching of PRODUCT RED also involves a partnership with Apple, and they allegedly will be announcing an anodized aluminum iPod nano during the Oprah Show that comes in red. $10 of each red nano sold will go towards PRODUCT RED, which will ultimately go towards The Global Fund which helps those with AIDS in Africa. It is said that nearly a third of the population in some African countries carry AIDS, so this would certainly be a worthy cause.
Personally, if I were in the market for an iPod nano, I would probably buy the red one for several reasons: 1) Proceeds go to a good cause, and 2) Red is my favorite color. Okay, so #2 is the predominant motivator. So?
It’s scary how much we think alike. I’m not gonna lie. I bought it ’cause it’s a special edition and because it’s just sOoOoo g’damn “red velvet smooth.” $199 + tax = A whole lotta electro-sexy.
They made their debut yesterday… and hit the store shelves this morning (in San Francisco at least). I knew I couldn’t hold out long. I also picked up the NIKE + iPod module that Joy has too. Watch out for some gym stats in the near future!
