I was toying with the new Windows Live Messenger’s video conference option with Jenny today. TONS O’ FUN. It even gave me a chance to test out a new webcam driver for one of my old skool webcams that I found in an unopened packing box… And the microphone still won’t work. I don’t understand it… it works in every OTHER program, why not this one? Oh well. Damn you Logitech **shakes fist**! But after much tinkering… I finally go it to work… kinda. LOL.

Spec: SOOOO…
Spec: to break it down
Spec: cheap ipod heaphones – to 1/8 splitter
Spec: to 1/4” adapter
Spec: into the mic input of my mixer
Spec: then outputted to another mixer
Spec: that also takes the input of my xbox 360
Spec: and into my soundcard’s LINE IN input

Did you know that headphones can be used as (really bad quality) microphones when plugged into a mic port? It’s true! I found that out after realizing that I didn’t bring my microphone box for a high profile wedding a while back when I was still in the mobile DJ business. I’ve since then retired. LOL. RETIRED. It’s true!

So anyway, the next time I’ll vid conference… I will definitely go the “must use cell phone on speaker” route. It’s a lot easier. Maybe then, we can actually talk about stuff instead of me running around my apartment like and idiot trying to McGuyver it all together! Hee hee. I’ll also have to take more pictures, Jen’s new haircut is almost too adorable! YAY.

Just another reason how the Internet keeps my world so damn small.
