Chrome Children = Adult Swim Hip Hop
Chrome Children: “Kicking ass in the tradition of DangerDOOM and Chocolate Swim.” From the Wiki:
Chrome Chidren is a co-production between Stones Throw Records and Adult Swim. The CD & DVD set, to be released on October 3, will include songs from Madvillain, J Dilla, Madlib, and other Stones Throw artists. It will also include a full-length hip-hop concert headlined by MF DOOM and Madlib on DVD. The concert was filmed by Adult Swim at the 2006 SXSW festival in Austin, TX. An edit version of the album is avalible in mp3 form on the Adult Swim website.
Where the hell have I been? They *even* had a contest to name the album:
Back in May we ran a contest to name this album. The winning name was made up by Jacob McCarrins of Venice, CA, who gets his name listed in the credits. However, it turns out that his real name is Elvis Jewell-Cohen. Jacob is just his Wu name or something.
ROFL. Ridiculous! I would have named it Chocolate Cactus Academy or something random like that. Or maybe not. Yeah. Hit up the homepage to listen to .mp3 streams of the individual tracks or the entire album. I’ve given a couple songs a listen… and I’m not very impressed… but I think I’m just bitter that I wasn’t all up onz from the beginning.
At least it’s something new.
