Import Games? No Problemo!

Thanks to on of my favorite cousins, Ben, I have a new world of dual-screened, portable gaming ahead of me. My current jeux de jour is Cooking Mama, a widly popular cooking game from the land of the rising sun. Hell, I even wrote an article about it on Ars a while back:
The game, set to be released in Japan on March 23, will allow the gamer to see how easy that lazy waiter from Root Beer Tapper really had it. In the kitchen, players will have to mince, dice, chop and fry various ingredients and take restaurant patrons through what looks like to be a gastronomic tour of Asia.
If you can remember, there was a demo of Ore No Ryouri, a wildly addicting cooking video game, off an old Playstation Underground disc back in early 2000. I wasted so many hours of my life on that 5 minute demo. If you’re a faithful Alton Brown disciple or think an Olympic adaptation of Iron Chef is in order, keep your eye out the title on your favorite import website. Let’s hope Cooking Mama captures that culinary magic. Fry HAAAARRDD!
So yeah, good times! Just to let you know, I’m packing tonite and leaving for the Midwest tomorrow. Hopefully, I’ll be a busy bee… cooking for everyone to somehow validate the large sum of money that I’m spending on culinary school. LOL.
See you in the Chi!

Sounds like a fun game. I’ll be sure to check it out when the US version release next month, September 13, 2006.

On a side note, i was in Montréal and they had Phoenix Wright in a store, but were charging $80 CAD for it! What a ripoff.
