Gettin’ Classical
@ Banana Republic’s Friends & Family sale. One black wool three-button suit blazer, black wool flat-front suit pant and the refined-dot tie… 30% off. YAY.
It sounds cheesy, but I’ve missed being *required* to dress like this for work. Actually, I’ve really missed having an excuse to build up my suiting collection (which may or may not be a good thing). Hee hee. I’ve never bought a suit from BR, but I didn’t want to pass up the discount. Thankfully, I have quite a bit of time until I start wearing it regularly, so I guess I’ll marinate on the purchase for a few more days before I get my tailor (yay Katherine) to begin chopping it up to fit my needs (the sleeves need to be shortened about one or one and one-half inches).
The suit is a strong black and its lines (shape) are defined enough to stand up on its own with a conservative tie (pictured above) and a simple white shirt. I did notice the blazer’s overall length to be a little too long, but I was told by Jodica (who suprisingly didn’t get credit for my sale WTF) that it’s part of the modern “look.” Again, I’ll ask around about my concerns and figure out whether or not to keep it. Joce thought it looked like it fit… so I’ll have to see.
I still need a few more pieces (maybe another suit and some dress shirt reinforcements) to comfortably slide into my new dress code. There’s still 2 hours left to order online! LOL.
