Boogie Jr.!!!

Having someone you can honestly say is your soulmate is something very precious to me. The thought that two people can create a brand new life from said love is almost unimaginable. To combine the essence of two souls into a separate, yet oh so connected consciousness, is a beautiful thing. It’s beyond the me… for now @ least.
For most of the people that I interact with on a daily basis here in San Francisco, having a baby (or being in love for that matter) is a distant thought, positioned so far back in the mind that it’s hardly given a chance to bear fruit and become something to look forward to. Right now, it’s apartment hunting, hitting up contests, eating at the most obscure restaurants and finding some way to pay for it all on a paycheck that comes every two weeks.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been blessed. Moving to a new city has opened so many new worlds… sometimes I don’t know how to spend my days off. I eat well, I am exposed to hundreds of different cultures a day, I hustle at school and @ work, I enjoy parks, indie films and the “colorful-ness” of being downtown 24/7. Hell, I even had lunch with a CEO of a company who let loose their IPO not two weeks prior. It’s crazy… but it’s fun. Care-free fun.
But I digress… All I wanted to say is that a fellow Dogglounge dj Mr. Santiago, a.k.a. Boogie Down (the guy on the left), has raised the bar in terms of what it is to love someone and receive it back…
…and how joyous one man can be when he holds his baby boy is in his arms.
I hope one day, I can feel like that. For now, I’ll live my (future) life vicariously through him.
Congrats Boogie. You’ll make a great papa.

P.S. Boogie’s new mix as a daddy has been posted to the Dogglounge: A Life’s Dream (As Seen Through A Father’s Eyes) with Boogie Down. Download it here. It’s all about the love baby. All about the love.
