ViBlog: Market Street Funk
I got out of work a couple days ago and was immediately hit with a wall of sound. A funky “trudattrudat” wall of sound. I was originally on my way to have a gin and tonic by myself at the local jazz haus… but I was completely drawn to the fat ass bass lines and screeching guitar. I flipped my cameraphone on video mode and tried to capture the vibe on the street. If you couldn’t make it out from the video, the trio was composed of a bass player, a drummer and a guitar player.
It’s kinda difficult to see… but there was a ZOMGCUTE kid gettin’ down James Brown style on the right. This kid really had some moves. A future heart-breaker in the making. I really wish I got closer, but there were SO many people on the street. Thank goodness I caught the end of the performance. The sound came out better than I thought, considering that the audio from some of my older (and unreleased) ViBlog captures unusable. And if you didn’t know… the track was The Gap Band – You Dropped a Bomb on Me.
Damn. I love live music!
