How Do You Spell Meat? ELL OH VEE EEH.

Nothing beats a good Brazillian steakhouse or Churrascaria. Upscale environment, quality side dishes, excellent service and… MEAT. LOTS OF MEAT. I’ve been to the big four here in Chicago: Fogo De Chao (bidness), Sal and Carvao (first date-o), Brazzas (dinner and a show) and my most recent visit… Texas De Brazil (Michelle’s bday). Never had the pleasure? For shame. Just kidding!
If you’re not familiar with the setup, it’s an open buffet, but waiters (sometimes called gaucho’s) bring large, juicy cuts of meat to your table on long spits and carve them directly onto your plate. You can find bacon-wrapped filet and chicken thighs, rack of lamb, rump roasts, homemade sausages, and other mouthwatering hunks of burnin’ burnin’ love. Side dishes, salads, appetizers and soups are normally available on premises as well. Roasted veggies, fresh mozzarella, sashimi-grade fish and lobster bisque can fill your plate and could even stand alone as a meal… if it weren’t for the hefty price tag.
Oh yeah, price. Establishments such as Brazzaz (my choice as Churrascaria king) don’t come cheap, especially with a couple trips for strong mojitos and spiked lime-ades. You can easily pay around $50 per person just for food, but in all honesty, I believe that it’s a justified price for such a decadent gastronomic experience. That, or you could find someone with a chubby business expense account, but I don’t really know anyone like that. Right, Kurt? lol.
Now, if someone were to open 24 hours a day…

I’ve never been to a churrascaria… buffets in general are wasted on me since I have the appetite of a small bird, but those places do sound/look really good!
