Another Year, Another Beat
¡Felíz cumpleaños! A home away from home, Jorge’s place has always been a safe haven for when I needed to get away from the regular ol’ shit. I always been thankful of that. He’s always been down for whatever and isn’t afraid of trying something new. He’s one of the most genuine people I know.
Jorge has a deeper grasp of what reality truly is than most people will in a lifetime. A man who never stops learning about the world around him, he absorbs the knowledge from the past and present to shape his outlook on life. When the mood suits him, he can give you answers that you don’t want, but should hear and advice that can make you rethink your place in the world. He’s deep.
On the flipside, he’s a spaz. LOL. One of the few people that I can mix with for hours on end, he has a good ear for what ‘deep house’ reall is. J has shown me a complete different side of Chicago nightlife… whether it be an Afrobeat night filled with scantly clad tribal dancers, Christmas parties filled with an almost sickening amount of hipsters, Halloween loft parties that keep rockin’ past dawn, or the best g’damn tacos on the North Side. A personification of what it is to be underground… Jorge Tellez is Chicago.
