All Things Chill

Huge picture, but it’s so cool lookin! I can’t get enough of this show! Jason got me the first season of House MD and I watched the entire season (22 episodes, I think) in less than one week. It’s an incredible show with an equally amazing cast. Here’s the skinny:

DR. GREGORY HOUSE (Hugh Laurie) is devoid of bedside manner and wouldn’t even talk to his patients if he could get away with it. Dealing with his own constant physical pain, he uses a cane that seems to punctuate his acerbic, brutally honest demeanor. While his behavior can border on antisocial, House is a maverick physician whose unconventional thinking and flawless instincts have afforded him a great deal of respect. An infectious disease specialist, he’s a brilliant diagnostician who loves the challenges of the medical puzzles he must solve in order to save lives.

People might go for the “CSI-styled graphics,” but I can’t shake the fact that Hugh Laurie (Dr. Greg House) looks (and acts) like a grizzly and disgruntled version of my old high school band teacher. Not to delve in too deeply on the subject, but my old professor was essentially my childhood hero (Sumi ma sen Oooojjiisan). It’s pretty funny seeing how both of them parallel. I think if they met, the universe would end or something. Crazy.

I was talking to Flo’da JoyJoy and she said that she sits around with her medical co-workers and they try and diagnose the patients before the show’s staff does. That’s got to be the coolest thing ever. She said that she’s beaten the show once (I think)… That’s pretty damn impressive. Me, I’d prolly have everyone take a shot of liquor every time someone says MRI or biopsy. Give it a try, you’ll enjoy it. It’s super underrated, so you could even label it as UNDERGROUND!

I need some cheese popcorn STAT.
