Let’s Get Meetro-Sexual
Another chat-app?!!? Sure! Why the hell not! Hee hee. Jacqui posted about Meetro on iLoop:
For those of you not familiar with Meetro, it’s not just Yet Another Annoying Instant Messaging Client That No One Uses (YAAIMCTNOU). No, really, it’s not! Meetro is a unique instant messaging client that is currently only available for Windows and will soon be available for the Mac that automatically detects (or allows you to enter) your current geographical location and then lists people on your “buddy” list who are geographically close to you—kind of like the Internet equivalent of seeing people “around town.” For Mac users, it’s sort of like Rendezvous/Bonjour, except for the whole world, and you don’t have to be on the same subnet.
The posted image is just a Mini-Meetro. The real application works just like AIM / MSN / Yahoo. I’ve already talked to a bunch of people around my ‘hood… chatting about whatever. It’s a pretty cool traveling tool if you’re looking for something truly local. If you’re in Chicago, download the app and let’s talk about stuff. Like ya know… food or whatever. Or like food.
Ok. That was the last Jacqui related post for a while, I promise.
Sorry guys, I needed to get it all out of my system.
