Meals In Minneapolis

Victor’s 1959 Cafe. Bright and playful, the quaint restaurant had a lot of what Cuba was and is. It was a DL reunion: Nate (DJ Hard Drive), Brian (Odogg), Jorge (The Curious J), Santiago (Boogie Down) and Herschell (Me / Special*Dark) just shot the shit and caught up on a lot of things. The food was unbelievable too. I had the Rancheros Cubano with a side of chorizo sausages.
2 corn tortillas w/melted cheddar, topped w/ 2 eggs & covered in a creole sauce. Served w/Cuban-style black beans
These guys are so completely geniune and I’m proud to call them my friends. Music can really bring people together. It’s unbelievable, I know… but I wouldn’t say it if I didn’t mean it.
After lunch, the guys went to snowboard (more on that later) and I stayed back to write this article. When they came back, we trek’d over to Solaris to do a sound-check for tomorrow’s party. We’re official BITCHES!
We stopped of @ Whole Foods on the way back and picked up some things for dinner. Odogg created mussels in a garlicky white wine sauce as an appetizer. It was delicious. I made sauteed chicken on a bed of wilted baby arugula and farafalle in a creamy goat cheese and organic tomato sauce. I also roasted two heads of garlic, mashed the meat and then heated it in a butter and extra-virgin olive oil mixture to make a paste to spread on a fresh loaf of bread that was sprinkled with lemon juice and a little cayenne for color. Sorry I made a mess Toni!
Now, I’m half-awake trying to combat a huge need to succumb to my food-coma. I’m shooting for one more Ars article before we head out again tonite. w00p w00p!
Minneapolis is crazier than you think
