Sorry, The Princess Is In Another Roadster

I have found another time waster-er to accompany my current obsession with LOST. I visited Jeff @ the local GameStop and traded in Trace Memory (Blech. Grape Fanta Bad) for a brand-spankin’ new copy of Mario Kart DS.
w00p w00p! Getting online with the Mario Kart WFC (Wi-Fi Connection) wizard was really easy to set up, even with a WEP encrypted signal. I played with people all around the world for around 3 hours yesterday and had this to say about it:
OMG WHY CAN’T I FREAKING WIN ONE RACE?
Seriously. I’ve been playing this forsaken game since I was 10. I’m not great at video games, but I didn’t think I would be this frustrated. I’m probably missing something, but there were characters and ‘karts’ that my online counterparts were using that I couldn’t choose from. I’m guess that I have to let someone borrow it for a while unlock stuff to get those options. Got some time Gary? Hee hee.
Don’t get me wrong, I had a ton of fun playing. The visuals are great and true to the original series. The controls are laid out exactly like the Super Nintendo layout, which is perfectly fine by me. The throwback race tracks really brought back a strong sense of nostalgia, which is pretty hard to do in a new video game. Nintendo has done such a great job of protecting their flagship characters, no wonder they’ve been around so long.
If you get your hands on Mario Kart DS and want to play online (and I know I’m just asking for trouble posting this), add the following set of numbers to your Friend’s List:

One more thing. Does anyone else miss Wario’s old voice? Who made the executive decision for Nintendo to use the “Wario Ware” generic voice as Wario’s default? I miss the WWAAA HAA HAAA HAAA from the Nintendo 64 days. Nawwaattaameannn?

The new issue of Wired showed that they’ve also come out with Animal Crossing… I’m REALLY debating trading in my Gameboy advance. Maybe w/my Xmas bonus

Rye: I’ll be reserving Animal Crossing soon. That is, if I can tear myself from from MKDS.
Man, soo addicting!
