So Pure, Snowflakes Are Jealous

New electro-pr0n today. I took pictures of the DS (instead of playing it) for prosperity. Flickr album here. Now I can reaffirm the $200 I spent on it whenever I don’t have the DS readily available. Which I might add… is never. I have my eyes on a lot of games, but three really stand out. All of which can only be found abroad, which means more money leaving my wallet. Here’s the list:
Produced by the Japanese contemporary musician Toshio Iwai, Electroplankton can be described as a “Touchable Media Art” game. You find yourself located inside a water-based world, where ten types of “Electric Plankton” creatures live. Those plankton react to your touch (through the DS touch screen) and voice (via the microphone). Depending on your input, the game displays and outputs different audio and video patterns, modifying your voice with a variety of effects.
Be prepared for one of the biggest anime fighting spectacles ever! As a result of a powerful collaboration between the famous Japanese Jump magazine and Nintendo of Japan, a total of more than 150 characters from 27 different anime/manga series have come together to duel in this Nintendo DS™ game.
Included in the impressive lineup are Goku from DragonBall Z, Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto, Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece and many more. And how else could it be, the title takes advantage of the dual-screen and touch panel functionality of the DS system to optimize its gameplay. While the action is taking place on the upper screen, manga sequences are shown on the touch panel. With help and support characters, up to 6 fighters appear on the screen at the same time. Up to 4 characters can play via W-LAN.
Gyakuten Saiban [Limited Edition]
English/Japanese language version. Meet Phoenix Wright, a rookie defense lawyer new to the scene with the wildest cross-examination skills in town. Take on five intriguing cases to reveal dramatic, stunning, and even comical court proceedings. Use both the dual screen and touch screens to investigate crime scenes, question witnesses and present shocking evidence. You won’t be able to put down this laugh-outloud, riveting adventure!
I must be patient. I’m still finding time to play Nintendogs and Puzzle Fighter. And I also wanna save up a lil’ bit for the next ’shipment’. If you have any recommendations, let me know what you think. I don’t think I’ll ever get out of this import funk on my own.
So if I moved to Japan… games would be cheaper, right?

It will only remain pure until you get your cheetoh fingers on them! LOL Also, the games sound cool. And actually Electroplankton will be making it’s way stateside. So you can wait on that and get JUMP.

I am so gosh darn jealous.
Also, you are seeing Puffy Ami Yumi on my birthday, which I think is absolutely fitting. Even though I don’t know a whole lot about them, what I do know and have seen/heard leads me to believe that they’re exactly the sort of act that one should see on my birthday.

[...] After another long day at work, Serena and I got invited to join Dark, JayJay, and Gair for dinner at the Sushi Station. We met up at the Caribou Coffee next door, and it was like geek meets geeks. I walk in and sprawled all over their table are laptops, cameras, and Dark’s Pure White DS. I busted out my Blue DS to be part of the geek and gadget convention but totally stole the table when I showed off my NEW camera. [...]
