Paging Dr. Old Skool, Paging Dr. Old Skool

Caribou Coffee. Friends. 3 Laptops. Gary: Toshiba + Sociology homework + Iced skim mocha, no whip. Jason: Vaio + Piles of house option docs + Green tea and passion fruit cooler. Me: Pbook + Mango iced tea and umm… ahhh… erhm…. ummmmmmm… ringtones? SURE!
I reached DEEP in the (virtual) crate this time around. If you don’t know any of these tracks… FIND THEM and make them your own. If you’re not feelin’ the new stuff that’s out on the radio right now (and you shouldn’t), take a trip back in the not so distant past and discover why I actually bought 1200’s.
P.M. Dawn – I’d Die Without You (Piano Sample Edit)
LOL. Ok not one of the reasons why I bought 1200’s… but it’s still 90’s R&B @ it’s best. Someone in your life still has this track in their car’s cd player from 10 years ago. Find that person and hug them for me… they’re the only reason why 50 Cent hasn’t broken into the slow jams scene. The file is 267KB, 22 seconds and encoded @ 96kbps.

Born Jamerican’s – Everyone Falls In Love (Hook Ringtone Edit)
One of the first reggae tracks that I can remember that actually has a decent vibe and melody. Set it to that jaded love scarred roommate. Because love-lorn lamentations can only last so long. The file is 249KB, 21 seconds and encoded @ 96kbps.

Souls of Mischief – 93 ’till Infinity (The Horizontal 8 Edit)
The instant head nodder. 11 years later and the track still bumps. Attach this ringer to your favorite member of your familia… so it puts you in a good mood before they ask you for money. The file is 438KB, 37 seconds and encoded @ 96kbps.

**TIP** Again, on more recent phones, you can text yourself the URL using AIM and if your phone supports it… you should be able to highlight the link in your phone’s message inbox and go to the link directly without typing it in manually. Just open a blank AIM window and put your phone number in the ‘TO:’ field: +(country code)(area code and phone number) Example: “+19995551234?. Simple!
Enjoy.
