Cinnamon Rolls And Other Breakfast Sins
Took this @ Ann Sather on Belmont in Chicago to celebrate a new career opportunity. There’s another one in Wicker Park on Milwaukee Ave. that I’ve been to with Jorge and Co. GEL was gracious enough to have brunch with me this time. Thank goodness for her Chicago navigation skills. I’d still be lost.
The food was delicious. It started with their famous cinnamon rolls and a large mug of black coffee. The rolls were so ‘gosh darn’ warm and fluffy. It’s as if they picked clouds from the sky and doused them with CCRREEAAMMMYY cinnamon frosting. It’s really that good. We ordered and shared Crab Cakes Benedict (mmmm Hollandaise sauce) & the Swedish Sampler: 1 sausage, 1 meatball, 1 potato pancake w/ lingon berry sauce and 2 eggs (over easy). The crab cakes were light as well and had quite a bit of dill for freshness. The sampler was tasty too. If anything, it tasted like the home cooked meal that you’ve never had. It has a sense of familiarity, without all the parental guilt trip. Hehehe. If that wasn’t enough, the sides of fresh fruit and hash browns were almost too much for the two of us. Didn’t stop us tho. We I made sure the plates were CLEAN.
I wish I took more pictures, but the food was gone so quickly. LOL. It’s a fun place to go to if you’re looking for a good ol’ fashioned breakfast joint. The picture above as well as other camera phone pics from the week can be found here.
Good times. Good times. ![]()
