A Little Bit From Column A… And A Little Bit From Column B

I’m not a sweets guy. I never crave sugar or chocolate… and I hardly ever bake pastries or towering cakes. I do eat dessert, but only with a strong cup of coffee after a wonderful main course. I would rather eat a good steak dinner TWICE than have dessert. But! that doesn’t mean I don’t have my favorites. And I just had one of my favorite combinations: chocolate and toasted almonds. MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm…
I’m working @ a conference next week… and the ladies in the office decided that we should ‘TRY OUT’ the little giveaways that we are handing out @ there. So… we have a lot of chocolate lying around the office. A LOT. So I had single serving of Ghirardelli Chocolate’s Milk Chocolate Squares with Caramelized Almonds. Delicious! The milk chocolate is rich and creamy and contrasts well with the crunchy almonds. The chocolate to nut ratio favors the almonds… but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Buy them here.
Maybe I just like the contrasts. I really do like eating soft + crunchy combos. Here, take a look @ what else I like:
- Scallop w/ spicy mayo, tobiko (flying fish roe) nigiri
- Tuna fish sandwiches (on wheat!!!) with Doritos
- Apple Cinnamon Rice Krispies with vanilla ice cream
- Fresh tortilla chips and artichoke/spinach/cheese dip
- Buffalo Chicken sandwich with blue cheese sauce
- Crab cakes on an English Muffin with Hollandaise Sauce
Ok… I have to stop because I’m getting very hungry. Why do I always do that? Me want food!
