OHAYO GOZAEEEEEMMMAAAASSS

Goode Co. BBQ

A La Carte BBQ Joint. Lunch! Order? Czech sausages, ribs and beef brisket with jambalaya and jalapeno cornbread as our “Vegetable”. Add a bottle of Houston’s local brew “Shiner” and 3/4 a bottle of Tabasco, you got yourself a damn good meal. Fairly inexpensive too. We ate outside on a park bench under the shade of a tree. Simply perfect.

World Foods Market

Beautiful grocery store in the ’swanky’ part of H-town. The veggies were vibrant and the variety was incredible. Baby squash (soooo adorable) and other mini-veggies were available. It was nice to see a grocer who showcases beautiful produce of the season. World Foods Market’s layout was pretty much a maze (-ing). Customers had to walk past most of the fresh produce in winding corridors before being presented with actual food ‘isles’. Purchases?

1 Fresh French Baguette
3 Servings of fresh portobello/roasted pepper pasta salad
1 Wheel of Brie (which we baked)
1 Jug of FRESHLY SQUEEZED orange/apple juice
1 Jug of FRESHLY SQUEEZED pineapple/orange juice

That, with some great red wine, was dinner. It was a great contrast to the meat extravaganza earlier that day. There are no words to describe the natural sweetness of the juices that we purchased. I now know what juice is supposed to taste like. We chilled out, got taken to a show… then we got ready for…

The Black and White Champaign Soiree.

Good times, good times. Flickr pics can be seen here. I’ll upload the rest when I get back to the Chi. Nice intimate jam. Everyone was a good sport about the theme and we had some very creative attendees (Nixon, that doesn’t include you heheheh). Among the bottles of regular liquors, these thirsty fish killed 15 bottles of Cook’s Spumante Champaign. It was very sweet and was DELICIOUS with oj.

Thank goodness you can’t OD on vitamin C happy

What a wonderful day Alice. Thank You.

Edit: Not that it really matters… but it turns out that Whole Foods Market = Central Market. Ok? ok.
